The Lost Puzzle

Solo Project| Unreal Engine| Third Person Puzzle Game

A simple Puzzle game, inspired by AAA titles like Uncharted and the God of War game series. I made this project to showcase both my technical and level design abilities. 

Level Design Process

Speedrun of creating a Level using Unreal engine modelling tool

Level Sections

  • Tutorial section

  • Complex puzzles 

  • multiple floor puzzles

  • Grand sections 


Starting with the basic elements and proggresively introducing the secondary elements, ensuring the player understood the role of those elements.

I also made sure had breaks between puzzles so icreated a grand section that they can just walk and enjoy the view

I mostly used Unreals, cubes but i also modeled certain Meshes to help me create the room i want

As a puzzle game i could not givethe answer directly to player, so lighting played a major role helping players to find the answer. 

Good signifiers to to make the elements prominent "pop out effect"

Sub Levels and Level Streaming

  • Organised folders 

  • Level stream volumes

As Most of my puzzle elements required event tick node to function having them all at once will lead to memory loss, so i used Unreals Level streaming tool to solve this problem. 

 

I also organise my elements in folders to have clean workspace and readable hierarchy
